Aldon's Permanent, highly visible and all-weather Track Clearance Marker tells switching crews how far they can shove a car without "fouling" the adjacent track.
FEATURES:
Molded in polyether, a flexible but stable form of urethane. Stands up to temperature extremes of -50°F to 140°F. Offers no resistance if struck.
Low-profile - only 10" above rail
Meets Federal Regulation 49 CFR part 218.101

Low-profile bright yellow urethane marker to indicate parking limits on tracks encased in concrete or asphalt. Marker is 36” long by 6” wide and 1” thick. All four sides of the marker are beveled to avoid being caught by snow plows. Keep the marker visible in winter by sweeping it clear of snow when you clean the switch points.
Choose Asphalt or Concrete installation
In concrete paving, marker is anchored with three lag bolts and expanding shields

Use Markers to indicate parking limits at rail loading docks.
The low-profile flexible marker is resistant to chemicals and does not interfere with the movement of rail cars.

On a spur track, rail cars which are parked too close to a switch can cause dangerous clearance problems for trains passing on the adjacent track and for workers riding on the side of those cars. This situation is known as "fouling the track"

Track Clearance Marker offers a permanent, highly visible, all weather point of reference for spotting crews

Always visible -- even in snow-covered track. The 10" high flexible urethane cone does not interfere with locomotive snow plowing. The cone is always visible above the top of cleared rails.
Note: Constant exposure to sunlight will not affect the physical properties of urethane except that there may be some color alteration over time. The marker will still remain a highly visible object in the middle of the track, especially in snow
